Change your password
The three fields on your profile page that change your password — behind User Profile, not Account Security — and the Active Directory case where the page correctly tells you to ask your administrator instead.
At the end of this guide your password is changed — starting from the right menu item, which isn't the one named "security."
Change it
Open your avatar menu (top right) and choose User Profile.
noteNot Account Security — that one manages multi-factor authentication. The naming sends most people to the wrong door once; now you've been.
The Options page opens on your Account tab, under Your Profile. Below your details, fill in the three fields:
- Change Password: — the new password
- Confirm Password: — again
- Verify your password to apply changes: — your current password, proving it's you
Click Save Changes.
What you should see: a success confirmation. A rejection quotes the rule you broke — mismatched confirmation ("New password and confirmation do not match"), or your organization's password policy, which the message spells out.
If there are no password fields
The page tells the truth about your account:
- "…ask your administrator to update your profile in Active Directory." — you sign in with your Windows (AD) account, so your password is your Windows password: change it the way you change your Windows password, and Content Central follows automatically. Nothing is broken.
- "…only your administrator can change your password." — your administrator manages passwords for your account by policy; ask them.
Forgot it entirely?
That's the login page's job, not this page's: the Forgot your password? link (when your organization has enabled it) resets by security questions. No link there means password resets go through your administrator.
Success check: sign out and back in with the new password — the real test, done while the old one is still fresh in memory in case of typos.
