The three fields on your profile page that change your password — behind User Profile, not Account Security — and the Active Directory case where the page correctly tells you to ask your administrator instead.

**At the end of this guide your password is changed — starting from the right menu item, which isn't the one named "security."**

## Change it

1. Open your avatar menu (top right) and choose **User Profile**.

   > note: Not **Account Security** — that one manages multi-factor authentication. The naming sends most people to the wrong door once; now you've been.

2. The **Options** page opens on your **Account** tab, under **Your Profile**. Below your details, fill in the three fields:

   - **Change Password:** — the new password
   - **Confirm Password:** — again
   - **Verify your password to apply changes:** — your *current* password, proving it's you

3. Click **Save Changes**.

**What you should see:** a success confirmation. A rejection quotes the rule you broke — mismatched confirmation ("New password and confirmation do not match"), or your organization's password policy, which the message spells out.

## If there are no password fields

The page tells the truth about your account:

- **"…ask your administrator to update your profile in Active Directory."** — you sign in with your Windows (AD) account, so your password *is* your Windows password: change it the way you change your Windows password, and Content Central follows automatically. Nothing is broken.
- **"…only your administrator can change your password."** — your administrator manages passwords for your account by policy; ask them.

## Forgot it entirely?

That's the login page's job, not this page's: the **Forgot your password?** link (when your organization has enabled it) resets by security questions. No link there means password resets go through your administrator.

**Success check:** sign out and back in with the new password — the real test, done while the old one is still fresh in memory in case of typos.
