Connect Paige to QuickBooks Online
Two working paths from Paige into QuickBooks Online: an automation on Zapier or Make that creates each bill and attaches the PDF as soon as Paige finishes the invoice, or QuickBooks' own bill import that loads a batch of bills from Paige's CSV. Which to pick, what lands in QuickBooks, and the step-by-step guides.
Paige reads the invoice — vendor, invoice number, dates, total, even handwritten ones — and QuickBooks Online gets the bill, with the PDF attached, without anyone keying it in.
QuickBooks Online (QBO, "QuickBooks" for most small businesses) has no watched folder or inbox for bills, so Paige reaches it through an automation platform, or through QuickBooks' own CSV bill import for batches.
What lands in QuickBooks Online
| Automation path (Zapier or Make) | CSV import path | |
|---|---|---|
| A bill per invoice | Created within minutes of Paige finishing the document | Created when you run the import, in batches |
| Vendor, bill date, due date, bill number, amount, account | Filled from Paige's fields | Filled from Paige's CSV columns during the import's mapping step |
| The PDF attached to the bill | Yes | No — QuickBooks' importer doesn't take attachments; attach by hand or skip |
| Line items | Optional: one line per Paige line item, or one summary line | One or more lines per bill from the CSV |
| Vendors that don't exist yet | Found or created by the automation | Must exist first, or be auto-created if your import settings allow |
Pick a path
| Path | Choose it when | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Zapier or Make | You want bills to appear on their own, PDFs attached, no monthly chore. Needs a paid Zapier or Make plan (the SFTP trigger isn't on free tiers). | Send Paige invoices to QuickBooks Online with Zapier or Make |
| CSV import | You already enter bills in batches, you don't want another subscription, and attaching PDFs by hand (or not at all) is acceptable. Available on plans that list Bills under Import data. | Import Paige invoices into QuickBooks Online from CSV |
Developers who'd rather call APIs on both sides can read Integrate your own system with the Paige API; the QuickBooks side is Intuit's standard Bill and Attachable endpoints.
This is about QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks Desktop has no cloud connectors; for Desktop, export Paige's CSV and use a desktop import tool, or use the Zapier route with a Desktop-compatible bridge.
